Three and a half years ago I quit my job working as a recruiter for a Fortune 500 company. After working for this company for two and a half years, I had finally built up my client base and was making a six figure income, but the stress and eleven hour days were unrelenting. My husband and I decided that our quality of life was more important than the financial security, and I quit my job even though we owned a home that we wanted to keep!

I started selling some of my own items on eBay from home while deciding what job I wanted to look for. When my family and friends would ask what I was doing and I told them I was selling some things on eBay, many of them asked, 'Oh, what would you charge to sell some things for me?' I started selling for friends and family and never needed to get another job. We still have our home and we love running our own business. I am a Gold Level Powerseller and have over 2,757 feedback, primarily from selling other people's stuff.

My husband told me early this year that I needed to go through the Education Specialist program so that I could teach other people to grow their own eBay business (he is the visionary of the two of us). I am now a Certified Education Specialist Trained by eBay, and I love every minute of it! I have belonged to Toastmasters International for the past two years to help me to be more comfortable in front of large groups, and I am now a Toastmasters Competent Communicator. When I am teaching the time flies by, and I find it so fulfilling to help people to take control in this economy and give themselves a job!
