My name is Katie Hux and I am from Mount Vernon, Ohio. I have been an eBay user since 2000 and became an Education Specialist trained by eBay in 2006. As an Education Specialist, I offer many services to aid others in becoming familiar with eBay, whether their goal is to become a buyer or a seller. Presently, I am teaching two courses at our Adult Education Center, located in Mount Vernon. Those classes include “The Basics of Selling on eBay” and the “eBay Giving Works Program.” The selling program offers students the chance to understand the principles of eBay while learning the techniques of selecting an item, writing an accurate description, taking the perfect photo, signing up for a Paypal account, and learning various shipping methods. The classes are held on three consecutive Tuesdays. These classes are hands-on and very informative. I enjoy the teaching environment and love helping people learn new ways of marketing an item. My motto is, “Everything sells on eBay; you just have to know how to sell it!” The eBay Giving Works program is a great program for non-profit organizations to fundraise without all the stress of organizing an event. I am active in this program through our local 4-H Club. As an advisor to young children I feel the need to teach young people the value of their possessions. A toy they no longer play with could be one that might be enjoyed by another child, therefore that toy is listed on eBay and the profits from the sale benefit our 4-H Club. It is truly a great program and I hope to promote this program a little further.
I offer my services to public libraries in the central Ohio area. I provide 2-3 hour presentations to patrons and explain the Basics of Selling on eBay. These presentations have been very favorable and those libraries that I have visited usually host another event to draw people into the library. The library presentations are free of charge to patrons. I also offer 2-3 hour individual tutoring by appointment only. I feel that I am very qualified to teach others the marketing techniques used to have a successful sale on eBay. I have had much success on eBay as a part-time seller and each year I have learned new techniques that I can share with my students. If you are interested in my services, the only prerequisite is a valid email address and a computer with internet access. I am currently offering a 20% discount on the Basics of Selling Student Manual, which outlines the program presentation. Mention the “123eBay20” discount code to receive this student discount.
The Education Specialist program continues to grow for me and I love the teaching environment it creates. It is encouraging to meet individuals who want to learn more about eBay. I enjoy knowing that I can help individuals learn marketing skills to become successful as sellers. eBay has definitely become a huge success for me as a buyer, seller, and an Education Specialist. I enjoy sharing my success stories with my clients and getting to hear their stories as well. Selling on eBay and being an Education Specialist have both been very rewarding opportunities for me. Let me share my experience with you!
