After selling three estate sale find postcards for over $85.00, I was hooked on eBay. In March of 1998 a friend of ours suggested that my husband and I check out an auction website on the Internet. We had been collecting fun and unusual novelties for about 10 years and were having trouble finding many of the items we were looking for. We checked out this website and, lo-and-behold, we found many of those things – and lots more! We even found an original Whoopee Cushion and bought it for $5.00. What a deal!

After buying on eBay for a short time, we decided to sell. We went to an estate sale and found three old sideshow postcards and bought all three for $.50. What a deal, we thought. I put them up for sale on eBay and in 7 days we were bowled over! One card sold for $7.50, one for $15.00 and the third sold for a whopping $63.00. Amazing! I was hooked.

Since then I have bought and sold many items on eBay including a vintage car with wooden wheels – really cool! In fact, I was having so much fun on eBay that I decided to teach others how to do it. I started by showing friends and that grew. Then, about 4 years ago, I created a class and offered it to the local University. They snapped it up. I taught that class for 3 years until I discovered the eBay Education Specialist Program. In August 2004, I passed the test to become an Education Specialist and my life changed forever. In September, I was chosen to be an eBay Holiday Helper and in January of 2005, I was chosen as one of the new eBay University Instructors. Although I am not on the schedule yet, I hope to be soon. I have created and taught almost 50 seminars to date and I am proud to have the 3rd highest feedback score.

eBay has changed my life – for the better! I recently became a PowerSeller and an eBay Trading Assistant. I have met the most wonderful and interesting people through eBay. The opportunities are endless. I love working the eBay way. I am my own boss and I can be as creative and as successful as I want to be. I've even gotten my daughters involved. One buys and sells regularly and the other just started buying. It's truly a family affair.
